In-laws mock the groom’s janitor’s mother until she takes the stage to congratulate the newlyweds – Story of the Day

María had always faced life’s hardships with quiet strength. Raised in poverty, she worked tirelessly as a janitor, determined to give her son, Andrés, the education she never had. Despite her long hours and modest pay, María enrolled Andrés in a respected boarding school, promising, “I’ll work hard so you can go to college.”

Years passed, and Andrés thrived. In high school, he interned at a clinic and declared he wanted to become a doctor. While there, he met Linda, a kind, intelligent girl he began dating. One day, María gently warned him, “Linda comes from wealth. Her family might not accept you.”

“Mom, she loves me for who I am. You’ll see,” Andrés replied with confidence.

After graduation, the couple attended the same university and stayed committed. When María met Linda, she saw her sincerity and warmth. So, when Andrés proposed, María gave her blessing with joy.

To celebrate, she hosted a small engagement dinner. But Linda confided, “My parents were hesitant. They didn’t approve at first.”

Eventually, her parents came around, offering to pay for the wedding. It was a grand event—elegant, joyful, and full of love—marking not just a union, but the fulfillment of María’s lifelong dream.
