Vance Boelter, the suspect behind a deadly assassination spree in Minnesota, left behind a handwritten confession blaming Democratic Governor Tim Walz for his actions, sources told Alpha News. The letter, addressed to FBI Director Kash Patel, was discovered inside a Buick Boelter bought just hours after the attacks. He is accused of fatally shooting Minnesota legislator and former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and injuring state Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. Both Hoffman and his wife are recovering. The shootings prompted the largest manhunt in Minnesota history, ending with Boelter’s arrest near his home in Green Isle. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
According to charging documents, Boelter identified himself in the note as the “shooter at large” and signed it “Dr. Vance Luther Boelter.” The note was found alongside evidence showing he bought the getaway vehicle and an e-bike for $900 from a man at a Minneapolis bus stop. Surveillance footage also showed Boelter wearing a cowboy hat, an image widely circulated by the FBI during the manhunt. Interestingly, Governor Walz was not listed on a typed “hit list” discovered with Boelter, which included various Democratic politicians and abortion clinics. Despite political overtones, investigators have not yet confirmed a clear motive beyond Boelter’s expressed grievances. Governor Walz has not issued a public response to the claims in the confession, though the incident has further intensified political tensions across the state.
