Annie Windley, from Derbyshire, England, battled an eating disorder for five years, during which she survived on just one piece of bread a day. At her lowest, she weighed only 29kg (63 pounds), putting her health at serious risk. Despite numerous hospitalizations, Annie began her recovery with the help of her love for running. She completed the Chesterfield Half Marathon and gained weight, reaching her heaviest since 2014.
In sharing her story, Annie hopes to inspire others struggling with eating disorders. She emphasizes that change is always possible, stating, “It’s never too late to change for the better.” Her journey has taught her that self-respect and the support of others are key to overcoming challenges. Now, Annie maintains a healthier weight and mindset, reminding others to not let their disorders hold them back from living a fulfilling life.
