A Coldplay concert in Boston this week sparked an online storm after a seemingly innocent “kiss cam” moment turned suspicious—and then scandalous—once the couple caught on camera reacted strangely to being filmed.
The viral clip shows a man and woman embracing during the performance, only to abruptly separate and try to hide when they realize the camera is on them. The man ducks down, and the woman quickly turns away and covers her face. What first looked like a romantic moment turned into what many believe was an attempt to avoid being recognized.
Social media quickly launched into detective mode. Within hours, users identified the pair as Kristin Cabot, Chief People Officer at tech company Astronomer, and the company’s CEO, Andy Byron. The fact that Byron is reportedly married, while Cabot is divorced, only added fuel to the speculation that this was more than an innocent outing.
Neither Cabot nor Byron has addressed the clip publicly or confirmed their identities in the video. However, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who was performing at the time, added to the intrigue by commenting live on stage: “Oh, look at these two. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
Now, a lip reader has claimed to have decoded what the man in the video said after realizing they were being recorded. According to the Mirror, he muttered: “F***ing hell, it’s me.” That short phrase has only intensified online suspicion and backlash.
TikTok user Grace Springer, who originally posted the video, admitted she didn’t know who the couple was at the time. Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she said: “A part of me feels bad for turning these people’s lives upside down, but play stupid games… win stupid prizes.” She added, “I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve.”
Cabot reportedly joined Astronomer in November. At the time, Byron praised her in a public statement, calling her a “proven leader” and praising her skills in employee engagement and people strategy.
Astronomer has not commented officially on the viral incident. As of now, both executives remain silent amid mounting public scrutiny.
