Speculation is mounting that Senator JD Vance could replace President Donald Trump before the end of 2025, despite Trump currently serving his second term. Theories about a possible transition have been sparked by recent controversies and growing concerns over Trump’s health.
Trump’s declining popularity is driven in part by his increasingly unpredictable policies. One of the most controversial is his renewed push to end birthright citizenship, which many Americans view as unconstitutional and discriminatory.
Additionally, renewed attention to Trump’s connections with Jeffrey Epstein has caused fresh damage to his public image. Critics accuse his administration of withholding key documents related to the Epstein investigation.
On July 19, Trump addressed the controversy on his social media platform Truth Social, claiming he urged the Justice Department to release all grand jury testimony on Epstein. He also said critics would never be satisfied, no matter what he did.
Still, political analysts are questioning whether Trump’s administration can survive further blows. One such voice is Josh Greene, a political commentator who, in a TikTok video, suggested JD Vance may soon step in.
Greene cited not only the Epstein scandal but also Trump’s recent health diagnosis as possible reasons for a presidential handover. He mentioned chronic venous insufficiency, a circulatory condition causing swelling in Trump’s hands and ankles, as a serious concern.
The White House acknowledged the diagnosis but downplayed its seriousness, calling it “benign and common” for people over 70. Nonetheless, many worry about Trump’s long-term capacity to govern.
On social media, many believe Trump will never resign voluntarily, citing his large ego and obsession with public perception. “He’ll never step down willingly,” one user wrote.
At the same time, others are skeptical that JD Vance would be any improvement. One commenter described him as “Trump with newer batteries”, implying a continuation of Trump-era ideology under a younger face.
Whether or not a transfer of power is truly on the horizon, it’s clear that public confidence in the administration is waning. Ongoing scandals, declining health, and controversial policies are contributing to that sense of unease.
As 2025 progresses, eyes remain fixed on both Trump and Vance. Whether this speculation materializes or not, the pressure on the administration—and the questions about its future—are growing louder by the day.
