The U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) revealed on Wednesday that a high-ranking Biden aide allegedly received millions in federal funds for a migrant facility that has remained unused despite the ongoing crisis. Family Endeavors, a nonprofit linked to a former Biden transition team member, received a government contract for an overflow facility in Pecos, Texas.
DOGE reported that Family Endeavors’ portfolio grew from $8.3M in 2020 to $520.4M in 2023, with most funds coming from federal sources. Despite receiving $18 million per month, the facility remained empty.
DOGE’s intervention led to the termination of the contract, saving taxpayers over $215M annually. This marks the second politically connected discovery by DOGE, following a similar issue with a group linked to Stacey Abrams.
