Young Woman Dies on Bus with 26 iPhones Strapped to Her Body
A 20-year-old woman tragically died during a long-distance bus trip from Foz do Iguaçu to São Paulo, Brazil. The woman reportedly fell ill during a stop at a restaurant in Guarapuava, located in the central region of Paraná.
She began experiencing breathing difficulties and was treated by emergency medical workers from Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU). Shortly after, she suffered a seizure and went into cardiac arrest. Despite efforts to revive her, she passed away on the bus.
What shocked authorities most was the discovery that the woman had 26 iPhones glued to her body. The phones were seized and handed over to Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service as part of an ongoing investigation.
Her luggage contained several bottles of alcohol, but no illegal drugs were found. Authorities confirmed that she was traveling alone at the time of the incident.
Although the official cause of death remains under investigation, early reports suggest her symptoms—breathing difficulties followed by seizure and cardiac arrest—may have been linked to the smuggling attempt. The excessive heat and weight of the phones could have contributed to her sudden health collapse.
