President Zelenskyy issues statement after leaving White House as Trump accused him of ‘gambling with WW3’

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Donald Trump had a tense meeting at the White House on February 28, 2025, discussing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Trump warned Zelenskyy that his stance was jeopardizing peace, stating, “You’re gambling with World War III!”

The conversation became heated, with Vice President JD Vance asking Zelenskyy to express gratitude for U.S. support. Trump criticized Ukraine’s position, stating that Zelenskyy was in a “bad position” and did not have the leverage to dictate terms.

Following the exchange, Zelenskyy left without attending the planned press conference, later thanking America for its support.

Trump also shared a statement online, expressing frustration with Zelenskyy’s approach, claiming that Zelenskyy values U.S. involvement in negotiations for leverage over peace. Trump concluded that Zelenskyy wasn’t ready for peace and could return only when prepared for a more constructive dialogue.
