Mom spots ‘God’s hand’ cradling baby’s head in ultrasound

In what’s being described as a modern-day miracle, a Kentucky mother says her unborn baby was touched by the “hand of God” — and she has an ultrasound image that she believes proves it. Amanda Foster, 33, shared the remarkable picture in April 2022, announcing that her unborn son Jay was developing healthily with “perfect blood flow” and no signs of Potter syndrome, a rare and often fatal condition that affects the kidneys and other organs.

For Foster, the relief was overwhelming. At 17, she had tragically lost her first child, Xavier, at just 20 weeks due to Potter syndrome. The loss left her heartbroken and angry at God. Doctors warned her it was unlikely she would ever have a healthy son since the condition is more common in males. Despite her grief, she and her husband Kyle went on to welcome two daughters, and later, their first healthy son, Jay, in 2022.

Now expecting another boy, whom they’ve named Kyler, Foster faced a new challenge when doctors detected a serious heart defect early in the pregnancy. The condition, an aortic septum abnormality, threatened her baby’s survival. Before each ultrasound, she says she would drop to her knees in the doctor’s office, praying that God would keep His hand on her unborn son.

At a recent appointment, Foster brought along her daughter Bailey for comfort. During the scan, Bailey noticed something unusual in the ultrasound image and asked whose hand was holding the baby’s head. To their amazement, the black-and-white photo appeared to show a giant hand gently cradling Kyler. Foster later shared the image on Facebook, writing that it brought her to “tears” and strengthened her faith in God’s presence throughout her struggles.

In June 2023, Foster joyfully announced that Kyler was thriving. At 36 weeks, he weighed more than seven pounds, had a steady heart rate, and was measuring ahead of schedule. She described him affectionately as her “chunky boy” and expressed her excitement about finally holding him in her arms.

For Amanda Foster, the ultrasound wasn’t just a medical image — it was a powerful reminder of hope, healing, and faith after years of loss and despair. Her story has since gone viral, sparking conversations about divine intervention, miracles, and the strength of a mother’s love.
