Henry Winkler, beloved for his iconic role as “The Fonz” on Happy Days, was honored at the Television Academy’s 27th Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony on August 17 at JW Marriott LA Live in Los Angeles. Joined by his wife of nearly 50 years, Stacey Weitzman, and their children, Winkler celebrated decades of contributions to television in a heartwarming family affair.
The induction, presented by longtime friend and 2022 honoree Bob Daly, created a meaningful full-circle moment—Winkler had the honor of inducting Daly just three years earlier. Expressing gratitude, he said, “I would not be here at this podium right now if it were not for you,” reflecting the personal and professional bonds that have supported him throughout his career.
His children—director Max Winkler, Jed Weitzman and wife Amanda, and Zoe Winkler Reinis and husband Rob—stood proudly by his side, with photos capturing the family’s shared joy. Other notable honorees that evening included Viola Davis, Ryan Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Mike Post, and the late Don Mischer, emphasizing the collaborative spirit of the television industry.
After the ceremony, Winkler shared on social media that the night had been “overwhelming,” expressing appreciation for the chance to celebrate alongside colleagues and loved ones. The induction not only honored his legendary career but also underscored the importance of family, friendship, and gratitude in his enduring success.
