O.H. Skinner, from the Alliance for Consumers, warned that such lawsuits could drive up costs for customers and contribute to a shift toward the Green New Deal through court orders.
A coalition of 19 states filed a constitutional challenge to these lawsuits, which target energy companies under state nuisance laws.
