Donald Trump Says Charlie Kirk’s Widow Is ‘Devastated’ After Heartbreaking Tragedy, Expressing His Sympathy and Support While Emphasizing the Immense Grief, Emotional Pain, and Deep Sorrow She Faces in Coping With the Sudden Loss and the Tremendous Challenges That Now Confront Her Life and Family

President Donald Trump addressed the tragic death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. Trump revealed he had a lengthy conversation with Kirk’s widow, Erika Frantzve, describing her as “absolutely devastated.” Frantzve, mother to Kirk’s two young children, had posted Bible verses on social media shortly before the attack, which many now view as ominous.

The fatal shooting occurred around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday. Kirk was struck in the throat by a single bullet, apparently fired from a distance. The FBI later stated the shooter may have been positioned on a rooftop roughly 200 yards away from the public event. Authorities consider this a targeted attack, and a multi-agency manhunt is underway to identify and capture the gunman.

Trump also announced that Charlie Kirk would posthumously receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, calling him a “giant of his generation” and an “inspiration to millions.” He declined to disclose any specific motive behind the attack but noted “rapid developments” in the investigation.

The FBI has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Surveillance footage shows a person of interest described as a lanky male in dark clothing, wrap-around sunglasses, and a T-shirt with an eagle and American flag bearing the words “Land of the free, home of the brave.”

Authorities briefly detained two individuals after the shooting but released them following questioning. The FBI is working with local law enforcement and has gathered extensive video evidence, including footage of the suspect fleeing the scene and entering a nearby neighborhood.

Investigators also recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle believed to have been used in the shooting. Forensic evidence has been obtained, and the shooter is believed to be of college age. The investigation remains ongoing.
