Five Years in Prison’: AG Bondi Sends Clear Message To ICE Rioters

Attorney General Pam Bondi, during a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity, delivered a stern warning to those involved in violent protests and riots in Los Angeles over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations. Bondi criticized the state of the city, saying it “looks like a Third World country,” and emphasized the federal government’s resolve to uphold the law. She stated that if California authorities fail to protect their own law enforcement, the Department of Justice would intervene, citing federal statutes to prosecute individuals who assault police or engage in looting and rioting.

Bondi revealed that nine individuals already face federal charges, with more cases underway. She outlined various legal avenues being used, including federal assault statutes, the Hobbs Act for robbery, and provisions that carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison. Specific examples included Molotov cocktail attacks and vandalism, as well as a suspect identified for throwing cinder blocks at police vehicles. Bondi declared that those who commit acts of violence, looting, or even spitting on officers would be federally prosecuted. Her message was unambiguous: the federal government, under President Trump, will not tolerate civil unrest targeting law enforcement, and aggressive legal action will be taken against all offenders.
